Announcements is the lab's bulletin board: instrument downtime, safety training dates, a new house rule. Admins post, every member is notified once, and the notice stays readable afterwards instead of drowning in a chat scroll.
Important notices can be pinned to the top, so the thing everyone must know sits above the everyday news.
