For labs / Restock
Restock
The reorder loop, out of the group chat and into a status everyone can see.
When something runs low, anyone raises a request against the inventory item. Admins approve it, someone orders it, and whoever opens the parcel marks it received, which updates the stock automatically through the same ledger as everything else.
Every request has a visible status: pending, approved, ordered, received. "Did anyone order more tips?" stops being a question with no owner.
Tied to the catalogue
A request always points at an existing inventory item, so receiving always closes the loop.
Clear approval path
Admins decide; only the admins are notified of new requests, once each.
Anyone can receive
Whoever is nearest the door books the delivery in; no waiting for a manager.
Stock updates itself
Marking received writes the stock movement for you, in the item's own ledger.
How it works
- Raise a request on the item that runs low.
- An admin approves and it gets ordered.
- Whoever unpacks it marks it received; stock updates.
Who is this for?
Research groups that want their shared daily life, from stock to instruments to meetings, in one place every member can see.
Frequently asked questions
Who approves requests?
Admins decide. Receiving is open to everyone, because whoever opens the parcel books it in.
Does receiving update the stock?
Yes, automatically, through the same ledger every other stock movement uses.
Is it free?
Yes. LabBee is in beta and every module is free. If paid plans ever arrive, we will say so clearly ahead of time.
How do we start?
One person creates an account and the lab, then invites everyone else by email. Roles work out of the box.
Who can see our data?
Only your lab's members. Every lab page checks membership on every request.
